I think Trump's cowardly tactic worked beyond his wildest dreams

Pardoning fellow racist, Sheriff Joe, was done on a Friday news dump that also had a major storm to help hide his deed. The fact that Hurricane Harvey turned out to be such a major storm really did wonders to keep his fascist ways off the news channels. There was some talk on Saturday, but all the news has been devoted to the storm and not what Trump pulled off.

Trump got away with one.

This story will have lasting ramifications whether you hear about it constantly or not; Mueller is well aware of what he has done. Besides, there has been an outrage a day with Trump, it is hard for the media to stay on a single story very long.

the more I think about it, this is too serious an issue, for civil rights, the constitution, the courts, Mueller's investigation, presidential abuse of power, etc, etc that altho Trump thought he could rely upon Harvey to drown the story, it likely will reignite once the Harvey news is no longer 24/7 (as it still should be, this is a national tragedy).
