As if this Texas Democrat needed a stronger reminder of the difference

During the response to Sandy's destruction of coastal areas of New York and New Jersey, I was appalled and ashamed at the stance of our two Texas (Republican, of course) Senators, trying to deny Federal aid to the stricken areas. Here is an open letter from Rep. Jerry Nadler, D (of course)-NY as a contrast:

My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath. The scenes of devastation and suffering have been heartbreaking.

Our district knows firsthand the terrible effects of such a storm after Hurricane Sandy destroyed parts of New York City in 2012. We stand with our friends in Texas as they endure this difficult time.

There have been so many stories of heroic acts, communities joining together and individuals working together to help those in need. Our nation’s first responders are, once again, displaying the bravery and courage to put others’ safety above their own.

This is the America I know, one where we come together to help our fellow citizens in need. I am moved and inspired by every first responder and volunteer who has been working tirelessly to help bring people to safety. Thank you.

However, it is also the responsibility of Congress to be there for our citizens after these events. We must provide the necessary federal funding to help people and their communities recover.

I will fight for aid for Texas, the same way I fought for federal aid for my district after Hurricane Sandy and the way I have after every such disaster. I know how long and arduous recovery can be, and we will not allow Texas to go it alone.

Thank you for standing with Texas,

Jerry

it is time to go to the polls next election day. The Dems should remind them way before election time using any means possible; billboards, TV ads, newspaper editorials, door to door canvassing, skydiving, etc.

That would swing many voters I would hope.

tRump and Maleria are visiting shortly. THAT is sure to help people feel better. He should stay away, donate the $$$ it will cost for the visit instead. He would be the very last person I would want to see ANYTIME, but especially after a disaster of this magnitude. People are suffering terribly, who needs HIM there?

The "no difference" crowd has been lying to us since Nader, and they are lying now.
