I'm pretty sure I heard it correctly just now on MSNBC that the Houston dams were only 6 inches from being topped. Now they're worried about the structural integrity of the dams that were built back in the 1930's. This could end up being way worse than Katrina if those dams give way.

(6,356 posts)They are releasing dam waters... but that causes other neighborhoods to flood.
The horrible task at hand is to try to find the balance of how much water to release... how much harm to cause... in order to prevent even worse harm.
I wouldn't want to be in their shoes.
I heard that a news conference is coming up at 8am Houston time.
I've been keeping this link open in the background to try and keep track of things.
