Any Emerging Characterization of the Federal Response to Harvey?

All I see are locals and civilians - some national guard - some coast guard...

What are the feds doing?

I'd like to be praising Obama's FEMA here - but Im sure Trump can fuck this up.

who hasn't a clue about the details of what is going on. I did see the FEMA guy talking yesterday at the news conference with the governor and he didn't seem like a Trump(R) appointee, i.e. like a total imbecile. But I haven't seen any stories or photos of any Federal activity.

Hacks sometimes.have moments of competency. Here is hoping it's one of them. When it's all over, Congress should thank him by booting him.

not to do on-site Highwater rescue etc. the so-called Cajun Navy has more boats here than the local state and federal resources combined

It looks like they are doing their jobs. Hopefully the politically leadership stays out their way.

FEMA does not handle rescues as that is generally local folks and the national guard but kick into gear to help the dispossessed.

Like police, firefighters and the national guard. And when they become overwhelmed local volunteers. If in coastal areas the Coast Guard is normally right there.

Who would you prefer?
