All I see are locals and civilians - some national guard - some coast guard...
What are the feds doing?
I'd like to be praising Obama's FEMA here - but Im sure Trump can fuck this up.

(50,922 posts)who hasn't a clue about the details of what is going on. I did see the FEMA guy talking yesterday at the news conference with the governor and he didn't seem like a Trump(R) appointee, i.e. like a total imbecile. But I haven't seen any stories or photos of any Federal activity.

(32,076 posts)not to do on-site Highwater rescue etc. the so-called Cajun Navy has more boats here than the local state and federal resources combined

(11,949 posts)It looks like they are doing their jobs. Hopefully the politically leadership stays out their way.
FEMA does not handle rescues as that is generally local folks and the national guard but kick into gear to help the dispossessed.
