Need some good news? In a little local election here in No VA,

Democrat Karen Key-Gamarra blows out the GOP/tea party candidate.

Democrat Karen Key-Gamarra will replace a retiring Republican. Her main opponent was a tea party republican being promoted by the RW home school crowd.

I feel this shows that there is little support for extremist Repubs and that the Ed Gillespie run for the governorship is probably in trouble. Virginia will remain in opposition to Trumpy and the GOP's misguided policies.

At this point, I'll take a little hope wherever it can be found.

These little elections are where the Republicans built their strength in the 80s and 90s. We marvel at their seemingly never-ending supply of odious characters, and this is where they get their start. 64-33 is a frickin' blowout. Here's hoping Keys-Gamarra is a leading indicator.

Get out the vote.

I live in a close-in MD suburb of DC and I follow VA politics fairly closely. Local elections are important! This is great news.

I like what I see about Ralph Northam.
