The FBI is denies request for files related to HRC investigation
Ty Clevenger, right wing lawyer, filed a FOIA request in March of 2016 asking for a variety of documents from the FBI and the Justice Department, including correspondence exchanged with Congress about the Clinton email investigation.
You have not sufficiently demonstrated that the publics interest in disclosure outweighs personal privacy interests of the subject, FBI records management section chief David M. Hardy told Mr. Clevenger in a letter Monday.
It is incumbent upon the requester to provide documentation regarding the publics interest in the operations and activities of the government before records can be processed pursuant to the FOIA, Mr. Hardy wrote.
This information is from a right wing news source, and I didn't want to give them clicks. The conservative blogosphere is enraged about this, and telling people that the FBI doesn't think that there "is enough interest from the public" instead of what the FBI said concerning something having to "be in the public interest."
Morons.
