agencies that help Americans.

He has stated as such, and how many of us still love him and want him to do that?

I hear it is a lot, we must be kinda dumb.

Not wanting to politicize tragedy, but these people who have believed the trumpsters and the reps about global warming being a hoax may think differently when family and friends suffer directly from these storms.

What exactly did you expect would happen?

I firmly believe in climate change, but the hysteria that rears it's head around here in August and September each year isn't helpful. CONUS has been very lucky the past decade with FEWER hurricanes. Weather <> Climate.

Hysteria? You really got that from my post?

Tell that to the people in the Houston area. And yes, I'm in Texas.

If you "firmly" believe in climate change, you also need politicians that do as well.
The "jumpiness" of some people on here isn't helpful.

Irma is a LONG way out there right now, but all current models show an east coast landfall, if anything. About 5% of storms in Irma's current position make a US landfall.

Hope nobody is panicking yet.

Chances are good this will recurve out to sea.

But 5% is way low. You can't base this on the current position, way too many variables.

There's a reason we track those numbers. Just a point of interest, right now.

Current Euro and GFS models for Irma look better for the Gulf than they do for the east coast.

And yes, I mentioned that it's a LONG way out there and included "if anything" when I mentioned landfall.

This thing is way to far out to say where it's going to go.

and soon. This affects all people regardless of political affiliation. Forecasting affects more than tracking hurricanes. So many industries rely on knowing what weather is coming their way. It affects the economy.
