Why does Joe Scarborough always call Trump a NY Democrat? There is nothing liberal or democratic about him.

1. He's trying to erase the past couple of years...

...in which he eagerly and damn well near daily provided Prima Donnie a safe space to bash Obama and pretend he knew everything about everything.

Joe's brand, for those who swallow it or sign his paycheck, is "mainstream Republican". Trump at one time had nominally been a Democrat because that affiliation dominates NYC politics and his business was in NYC real estate. It was the environment he operated in, the people he was trying to fleece.

Joey-Jo-Jo is using that to paper over his Oscar-nominee supporting role in putting a swindling baby in the Oval Office.

He's also trying to set up the "he was never really one of us" conventional wisdom for Republicans and and hack politics-show hosts when Trump goes down in flames. Assuming, just as he did for the last couple of years, that Trump won't take the whole country down in flames with him.
