http://www.politicususa.com/2017/08/31/rachel-maddow-bigger-news-watched-cable-show-august.htmlMSNBC's The Rachel Maddow show was not only the most watched program on cable news for August. It was also the most watched show on all of basic cable, which means that more people are watching Maddow than are watching sports and entertainment on basic cable.
TV Newser reported, Rachel Maddow hosted the No. 1 cable news program for the month of August, and was one of the most-watched shows across all of basic cable. Not only is Maddow No. 1 this month, but she posted significant year-over-year audience growth in total viewers (+73 percent) and among adults 25-54 (+72 percent).
Maddow has nearly doubled her audience from a presidential election year...

(23,470 posts)I wish the tv networks would be reporting on Mueller every day and connecting the dots.
We have no Murrow. We have no Cronkite.

(32,556 posts)Rachel's show is shared on the bit-torrent websites that go around the world.
Her show is getting heavy downloads in Europe, Asia, Australia, and probably other areas. As far as I know she's not being translated into other languages. But you know, that's mostly unimportant, almost everyone (on the internet) speaks english as a 2nd language now.

(4,832 posts)she prevents her show from turning into a moral equivalency, and wrestling match show. There is no screaming involved, so the viewer can listen.

(40,416 posts)She draws one into the story by providing background, often deeply historic background. She is so educated that these contexts just naturally bubble up to the top of her brain. She has a PhD from Oxford!
And she always corrects her mistakes!!!
People trust her. With good reason!
Love her!

(52,791 posts)for reporting that makes sense of it, what with all the muddying of the water that Republicans are still doing to it.
When she lays out the points of information and connects the dots, you say "Of course! Why isn't everyone else all over this?"

(51,562 posts)How can we get those willfully ignorant people to wake up an listen to Rachel or someone else who tells the facts? That is a problem. Any solutions?

(53,410 posts)The interviewer asked the Trump voters how to describe Mueller in one word. 2 responded with "It's about time", to "Hurry up!". I think those two had voted for Trump just to vote against Hillary.
Almost all the rest (I think there were 7 or 8 people) said they didn't know who Mueller is.
It explains a whole hell of a lot. Ignorance keeps them supporting Trump, because if they knew what we know they would probably stop supporting him.
Not knowing who Mueller is sure shows a huge gap in knowledge!

(35,926 posts)collective oath to defend the Constitution. The FBI (trying to make up for its Hoover days) is now this country's best defense against enemies, foreign and domestic. I highly recommend it to DU.
Rachel's does her reading homework in giving us the history of FBI work headed up by Mueller.
