John McCain must be a higher authority than the American public

Last edited Mon Jul 16, 2012, 08:06 AM - Edit history (1)

otherwise, why would Romney submit 23 years of tax returns when McCain asked for them, but only 2 years when the public asks for the same?

Who the hell does this guy serve? Why are the voters a lower priority than McCain? I don't give a damn what's in those record, not at this point. I just want Romney to explain why he thought McCain's request was more important than ours?

If this is how he responds to his potential employers (the American public) now, imagine his attitude when he doesn't have to campaign anymore...

As President, Romney's supposed to answer to us. This is indicative of how he views his potential boss - if he treats us with such disregard now, imagine how he'll act once he secures the job and doesn't have to campaign anymore.

Imagine for a moment that he refused McCain's request. Imagine you he told McCain "Nah...two years is all you need to see."

At least not without breaking a legally-binding non-disclosure agreement. I would be very surprised if there wasn't such an agreement signed before those returns were given to the McCain camp.

Why didn't the republican party vett (spelling?) Romney before it got to this point? Couldn't John McCain have shared some of the information with the GOP, at least on an informal basis if nothing else?

he could still back-door a message that Romney is/isn't qualified.

Of course, some say he did just that when he chose Palin over Mittens.

Why couldn't someone just have a private conversation with John Mc Cain over a golf game, or something? It just seems weird. Nobody asked him?

Maybe there's nothing in the documents, and this is all just another version of the GW Bush military record game. McCain hasn't said anything because there's nothing to say. and Palin got picked over Romney for some stupid reason that only McCain could explain.

I think we better tone done the message that Romney could have committed a felony, and just beat the drum that the returns MUST be made public.

I do not think the Obama campaign is bluffing. And look at the way Romney is sweating and refusing to do a simple thing like reveal his stupid tax returns, for chrissakes.

But I have sometimes thought that the republicans were never all that serious about winning the presidency in 2012. These GOP candidates have all stunk. I think the GOP didn't really do their best to get a decent candidate out there. Nobody really liked Romney anyway, from the beginning.
