'Monica, Monica' chants taunt Clinton in Egypt

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was taunted by chants of "Monica, Monica" by tomato-throwing demonstrators as she visited the Egyptian port city of Alexandria on Sunday.

The chants, referring to the Monica Lewinsky scandal when her husband, Bill Clinton, was president, were heard outside the US consulate as she visited for its reopening.

An embarrassed Egyptian security official said they were chanting "Monica, Monica" and "Irhal, Clinton" (Get out, Clinton.)

Tomatoes, shoes and a water bottle were thrown at part of Clinton's motorcade as it pulled up, protected by riot police, although a US official said Clinton's own vehicle was not hit.

I mean, the Muslim Brotherhood won, and they were popular during the uprising.

You might have even heard people here in the US attacking Hillary in this manner, way back then.

"I have no idea, but it's indicitive of a population/society that has issues with women, no?"

...implications of that, the chant and the incident reek of something staged.

Maybe it's staged, maybe it's just a political sub-group that has its own pet theory, the equivalent of the "Ground Zero Mosque" protesters, or the "the goal of Fast & Furious was give Obama a pretext to grab your guns" loons.

Either way,

Who did she just meet with?
Which side of the very contentious situation in Egypt was throwing tomatoes?

The reports as shown by CorpoMedia© just leave the vague image of one of Obama's Secretaries being unpopular somewhere. .

No wonder most Americans have no fucking idea what's going on in the world.

on edit: I rec'd this post to highlight the astounding vapidity of America's "news" industry.
