Silly Media! You can't SwiftBoat a chickenhawk who ducked out of Vietnam !

Romney didn't earn any medals in 3 years of telling French kids put down the wine and become Mormons. Young Mitt Romney was very much in favor of sending his peers to Vietnam (and it wasn't just so they would get a forced haircut).

Romney has never worn a uniform that he earned the right to wear, or that came with actual responsibility to protect the health and safety of others.

He has never shown moral conviction, never threw his un-earned medals over the Whitehouse fence. Of course, Mitt wouldn't have needed to throw them OVER the fence since Romney's father was in that Whitehouse with Nixon. Heck, Romney's father probably picked up Kerry's medals and gave them to Mitt as a present for his illegal uniform collection.

Romney never saved a soldier in Vietnam while under fire and being grazed by one of the Vietcong's bullets.

Simply put: Romney has no honor to Swiftboat.

that this is all partisan mud slinging with little basis. They don't want people following the details.

But YES this is about truth and whether or not Romney followed the law so not the same at all.

Disgusting how the biggest media outlets like CNN are carrying water for this clueless money hoarder and animal abuser. Hilarious that they're lamenting on rMoney's behalf, using the "Swiftboat" word.

How about we remember that the "Swiftboat" incident was a perjury created by GOPers? A treacherous ambush concocted by a small group of Republican operatives and carried by complicit media, attacking candidate John Kerry---a DECORATED VETERAN---with made up lies about his service.

Of course, but the thing that was most telling for me regarding him was the fact that the medals he tossed were not his, but someone else's that had been donated. That said a lot to me about him. The Navy saw him as a bright young man with a future, and he saw himself as such as part of the anti-war movment. Nonetheless, Kerry's service in Vietnam and the antiwar movement were both more patriotic than anything Romney has ever done.

The media will figure out a way to depict Romney's time in his Paris palace as heroic and the President's time as a kid growing up in Indonesia and Hawaii as somehow sinister.

like all chickenhawks, gwb, dickieboy, rumsfeld, condi,. the only prominent one that did serve was colin powell and we all know what happened to him. The soldier always takes the fall on mistakes made in the field. I venture to say that he was the only one in that administration that had a shred, shred mind you, of integrity.

They may be Neocons (I'd dispute that in Powell's case), but they're not chickenhawks.

JW did the least for the war effort to promote war bonds and morale. You never see any footage of JW attending a war bond rally. There are plenty of stars who did it. But JW was just to busy making war movies and cashing in.

What a hopeless "mission." Talking the French into giving up wine. Ridiculous idea. I wonder how many converts Romney made while in France. By converts, I mean French people who remained Mormon for the rest of their lives after being persuaded by Romney. Not many I would bet. Not many at all.

since it was France's war until 1954 when we got in.

Romney converted 2 people in 30 months. Went to Bordeaux and Harve. Romney was in a car accident where he and a companion were hit by....wait for it....remember that truth is stranger than fiction....hit by a drunken priest(!). The passenger, Leola Anderson, was the wife of the US Mormon mission leader in France and she died as a result. Romney became co-president.

All hell broke loose in France in 1968 and Romney and his missionaries lived through strikes, riots and non-violent occupations without a broader understanding of the context. The experience is believed to have been a factor in Romney's turn toward heartless vulture capitalism.
