It sure is fun mocking the apparently hapless Mittens.

However, it would be stupid to believe that this election is going to be a walk in the park for the President. There's a long time between now and November, politically speaking and Mitt's got more $$$$ than the President.

"It sure is fun mocking the apparently hapless Mittens."

..."mocking." It's calling him out and exposing his lies. Keep hitting him all the way to November.

He can try to change the subject, but I think the Obama campaign is ready: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002955087

"really? you can't see the mocking going around here? I mean, c'mon. even you should"

...is secondary to the issue at hand, which is exposing Romney. The Obama campaign is focused on that.

I mean, what's the point of elevating the jokes above the fact that Romney is in deep shit?

Sure, I mock him, along with most of DU, and I make no apologies!

The only person who might have a need to avoid mockery is Obama himself. I'm not running for office, so I see no consequences for me calling him Rmoney, calling him a Cylon, saying he can't pass a Turing Test, comparing him to Gordon Gekko, etc...

Why shouldn't we mock him? I don't feel any need to be the slightest bit civil to this sociopath. We all know how cruel he is to those he has power over, we all know he'd be a disaster as President, and we all know he's a nasty, mean-spirited piece of shit.

Ridicule is a powerful weapon! Why shouldn't we use ridicule to help us win this election? Of course, we have to have a larger strategy, and not just ridicule exclusively, but to say we have to nice to our enemies is stupidity that has bitten us in the ass over and over and over.

I say show him no mercy, for we will receive none!

cost her the election, while her continued denial simply cost her lots of wasted expenditures. She outspent Brown 3 to one on ads. That is Governor Brown, the winner of that election. So politically speaking, where is a story that proves the theory that more money = more votes?
The Whitman campaign had many similarities to Mitt's, huge wealth, business ability touted, spending as replacement for ideas, the works. And Meg kept refusing her tax records, and she kept buying expensive commercial time, and she lost.

Actually President Obama has plenty stashed away over the past 3 years. It's the SuperPacs that will be pouring big coin and if Willard looks like a lost cause that money will be used for downticket races. The damage inflicted here sets the stage for more damage down the road. Rover can't fix what with all of Adelson's Chinese billions...

the 1% and who *is* a card carrying member of the 1% and the candidate who, although not perfect, more closely represents the 99%.

I think after all is said and done, this will be what the voter will have to decide. Hopefully the disenfranchised racist/bigot/batshit crazy fundies will be so disgusted that they sit this one out.

The emperor stands naked before us all and it is not a pretty sight.

Now the ties need to be made to that kind of mentality and the obstructionism on jobs, and the threat of destroying ACA.

What we're up against is a dying animal and they will be dangerous at poll stations and will pull every trick in the book to cheat the vote.

It certainly doesn't guarantee anything. But it makes the opposition look weak and hapless. The GOP has used it against the Dems many times. It's about time they got a taste of their own medicine.
