things I would do retroactively

somehow retiring would not make the top of my list

1) have one more child
2) "gamble" knowing the winning outcome
3) delay buying a home (which went underwater)
4) change my investments so that I didn't take a bath in the market in 2000-2002 and again in 2007-2009.
5) take better care of my families health
....

Withdrew from some courses in grad school.

Was admitted to a degree program a year after I started taking courses.

Even managed to approve voluntary leave almost 3 years after the guy was forced on leave and then his announced retirement a year after the guy's contract ended. Now that was sweet--he got to be on voluntary leave and then retired, and got back pay for the nearly 3 years when we thought he was on forced administrative leave without pay. Silly us. (Then again, the board signed off on it.)
