(2,091 posts).....ready for the fake hurricane coming to the real Daytona Beach area.
I have fake muscle aches from shoveling the fake sand into bags, and placing around my fake house doors. Putting fake plywood on the fake windows. And will probably be going to the fake shelter, unless we decide to get into our fake car with our fake kitties and drive up the fake roads in a fake traffic jam to a fake location to get the hell out of the way of the fake hurricane.
Ugh. It is depressing. A year ago we did the same drill for Matthew. And nobody had the audacity to call it fake.
But I guess we are living in different times now....
Rush is a real prick

(58,785 posts)Apparently he's pushing the idea that fake weather news starts as a plot by retailers to panic people into cleaning out their shelves. But that's only the opportunistic tip of the loony-tunes iceberg: It's all about the "liberal agenda" to sink the ship of state, including by manufacturing hurricanes.
WaPo:
Alex Jones might have something to do with it. The Infowars founder who has an amazing reputation, according to Trump has for years promoted the notion that the U.S. government possesses the power to conjure and control weather events. Just last week, as Hurricane Harvey battered Texas, Jones devoted part of his show to questioning why the government didn't use the technologies to kill [the storm] out in the gulf.
It is weird how these storms go, he said, suggesting Harvey might have been manufactured or manipulated. They just sit over a city.
Jones's contention is that the government or, more precisely, the deep state, now that Trump is president uses its weather weapon to stoke fear of climate change and promote a liberal agenda.

(182,603 posts)I've caught some of his show the last few days running errands at lunch.
He said he had no idea about the criticism until Eric Ericsson tipped him off Tuesday night. He said he gets "no feedback" and then went after the reporter on the Daily Beast (same guy who got body slammed) saying that HE lived in an "emotion cocoon" totally cut off from the world.
Anyway since then it's all been about how he was right, he knows more than the hurricane experts, everyone is attacking him, oh and a repeated condescending bit about filling up containers with tap water.

With Rush, he knows full well this is a lie. It is not as if he is making a bad weather prediction,. He also knows he will not be held responsible for it.
