What would you do if Romney wins?

If Romney wins (or steals) the presidency, we’ll probably also end up with a GOP controlled House and Senate.

I find that a terrifying thought. And we’re it to happen, I believe our country would be a place in which most of us would not want to live.

Moving to Canada or Western Europe is not a viable alternative for most people, myself included. I guess my only alternative would be to stay off the grid (as much as possible in today’s world) and try to survive the hell they would bring upon us.

What would you do?

Canada is racing to the right as fast as it can. It's getting nasty up there. Western Europe? The corporatists are bringing Europe to its knees. The economic bloodbath in Spain is terrible. Raising taxes sky high on working people, reducing unemployment benefits, screwing pensioners, chipping away at health care. And there's three more years of the fascists being in absolute control there. As they were announcing the cuts in unemployment benefits in the Spanish congress the other day, a female right-wing deputy was shouting "Let them go fuck themselves."

There is no doubt that the rePIGs will overreach again and again especially with the tea-baggers probably taking credit if they indeed should win he presidency. Then I will pledge myself to the following:

(1) Campaign to have the next Presidential candidate from the left pledge to investigate and prosecute any and all wrong doings of Mittney administration.
(2) Campaign to block as much of rePIGs court packing as possible especially the SC.
(3) Campaign to win back the House and as many governorships as possible.
(4) Campaign to have the influence DLC and New democrats, etc in the Democratic Party, reduced to insignificant level such that it will never posse any more threats to liberal principles of the party.

I was suprised when Gore "lost" in 2000 but I honestly believed that Bush II would be as lackluster as his father and that we stood a good chance of winning back Congress in the 2002 midterms and the WH in 2004 and, at least for awhile, that's how things looked like they were going to play out but then everything changed, of course, after 9/11. I was hopeful that we could get rid of Bush in 2004 but had my doubts that Kerry could whip up enough enthusiasm to win, which he ultimately didn't and I dreaded Bush's second term and was pretty depressed for awhile. I was excited to see the Dems fight so hard against his planned Social Security "smash and grab". I was expecting an eventual "bipartisan" agreement on Social Security privatization that, thankfully, never happened. Then, we finally won back Congress in 2006 as well, which buoyed my hopes for 2008. If President Obama loses and we lose control of Congress, I guess I'll strap myself in for a bumpy 2-4 years and keep working to elect Dems to every possible office, especially if Mike Pence becomes our next governor. *ugh*

and hope this result would lead to a fire breathing liberal candidate emerging for the Democrats to challenge Romney in the next election. I have been saying for a long time now Americans respect a strong president who does bold steps and not wishy washy weakness, trying to please the mushy middle. If Romney wins, it will confirm my view that the Democratic party needs to move hard left to compete and offer a bold vision of liberalism and being progressive in order to succeed.

As a side note, I think Romney unfortunately has a serious chance of winning, and would not be terribly surprised by this happening.
Of course it would suck, but I never buy into the doom-sayers ridiculous predictions.

I don't know if they'll get away with repealing all of it, but if they're in total control, who's to stop them? The Supreme Court?

And speaking of the Supreme Court, imagine the appointments they'd make that would last many decades into the future.
