MSM mystified that people lining up for blocks to see Hillary

(32,640 posts)and HRC bribed them with pizza, and go away and shut the fuck up, you remind me of MAAAAAAAHHHHHMMM and I moved out MONTHS AGO, DAMNIT!
And the basement dwellers on all over the Amazon book page, saying, "She ghost wrote this, losers" and other things that they would normally reserve for their local newspaper comments section.
The "rogue DNC" facebook page is organizing protests at her appearances. The broflakes are restless, and their sorry asses are being met with this:

(18,124 posts)she should be POTUS. Electronic voting machines were hacked in 2000--by who knows who, rove et al., just as treasonous as these fascist, racist aholes we have in place now 'running' our country and in 2016 by we know who what a fucked up situation. We will never have fair elections anymore until we go back to paper and pen-pencil voting.

(2,768 posts)I wasn't originally in the Hillary camp(Bernie in the primary) so I'm somewhat objective here. They beat on her and beat on her and beat on her some more. Bernie beat on her and beat on her and beat on her some more when it was time to admit defeat. At no point did they think it was time for him to let it go.
Meanwhile, they gave legitimacy to that asshole trump by playing entire trump speeches and letting his surrogates run rampant and unchecked. Now they want to sweep that dirt under the rug and admit no part in bringing about this clusterfuck of epic proportions. No-sir, the media assholes played for ratings and aided in putting that fucking skunk and cabal of skunks into office.
I have completely written off a whole slew of media including some of the talking heads on our side. We needed these people to use their platforms and form a political bulwark to stop the spread of lies trump surrogates were pushing. Not only did they fail to do that but they simultaneously beat the shit out of Hillary about those goddamn emails. They had one job as purveyors of news and abject in their failure to do so only magnifies my anger toward them now.
I'm still pissed at how they helped flush this country down the drain through inaction. I don't care how hard they go at Trump now. It's always going to be a stain on their reps as far as I'm concerned.
Great post and you say exactly how I feel. We will not forget the free pass the media gave dumphead just because his outrageous behavior would get them ratings.

(3,112 posts)Also kinda reminds me of the lapdogs they were in the run up to the Iraq war. They were friggin' horny for war and greedily suckled at Dubbya's teat all the way to Baghdad and beyond (Sorry for the visual there lol). And then, when the orgasmic afterglow of Shock and Awe faded into just a smile on their faces which their spouse wouldn't understand, they decided - a thousand days late and a few billion dollars short - that maybe invading Iraq wasn't such a good idea after all. Ya know, seeing as the pretext was based on a demonstrable, provable lie and all.

(32,579 posts)...all for a few bucks of easy ad money. "Donald Trump is good for business."
We should never forget that! It's the CEOs and owners of the newspapers and radio/TV outlets who gave Trump the free blowjobs last year. I don't believe that the reporters themselves wanted to give Trump a pass, but their bosses MADE THEM DO IT!
Maybe I'm really naive, though.

that if you are in the news business, including the talking heads, you have a responsibility to the public. You have that responsibility to that public because most automatically take the position that you are respectable, have integrity and are a journalist of some sort.
Some of us understand that they aren't all actual Journalists, but most people don't really make the distinction. The news folk needed to trade on this granted integrity and defend the public that gives it to them. They didn't, whatever the circumstances and now, at least for this guy, the journalistic/news trust and integrity they've been granted has been shot. I can only see them now as what they are. Paid shills for whatever the network deems most profitable.
It's not to say that they can't do good work now, but when we needed them most they failed spectacularly. On the other hand there were some that went to bat for us and fought back against the narrative like warriors. They placed their careers squarely in the sights of the higher ups and took the fight to trump and his surrogates lies.

(32,579 posts)That's why Katy Tur and others are writing books now. They want to tell the truth, the way they couldn't during the campaign. I've read several including the one by Matt Taibbi. "Insane Clown President, Dispatches from the 2016 Circus," which was hilarious and maddening.
So my point was that the rules all changed in the last couple of years. The hard news doesn't sell the newpapers anymore so advertising is king now, and that's why these reporters are losing their jobs. The newspapers are shutting down or going digital, 24/7 fake/celebrity news. Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrow are turning in their graves.

Interesting to note (according to an article on the DU boards) that the Trumpanzees are swarming Amazon with bad, hateful reviews. Of a book they undoubtedly haven't read. This is exactly what we need to be aware of on all social media platforms--this swarming action is what happened in 2016. We didn't know then what we know now.
Time for insecticide, me thinks!
PS: On Amazon's verified purchase reviews, the book is getting 4-5 stars, mostly 5s. I suspect Amazon was alerted to the haters' bogus review action. Hillary's friends are pushing back. Good one on them.

This is one of those times, in my mind. Because we saw what swarming did in respect to political thought and opinion in 2016. I'm all for being above board and better than . . . But this propaganda technique hacked American minds with absolutely disastrous results. We shouldn't let it slide or go without a concerted push back.
Because we know now what we didn't know then.

(4,940 posts)On Tuesday, the White House press secretary attacked the release of the book.
"I think it's sad that after Hillary Clinton ran one of the most negative campaigns in history and lost... the last chapter of her public life is gonna be now defined by propping up book sales with false and reckless attacks," Sanders told reporters.
