I wish we would claim the whole 2 words back.... Anti Fascist. Because that is what we are.

When Trump and the Rs use Antifa, purposely making it sound menacing, they gin up the idiots against peace. I wish we would claim the whole 2 words back.... Anti Fascist. Because that is what we are. Anti Fascist.

1. A possible positive synonym for anti Fascist is Pro Democracy.

The way to eliminate fascism is to build up democracy.

6. I agree with you.

During the Viet Nam era, many of us were pro-peace, not anti-war. I don't want to bore the younger generations with other examples of protesting for something, not against something, like Rev. King or Gandhi.

Yes, the Republican Party is responsible for the rise in fascism. The Republican strategy of divide and conquer has created a world where "framing" the issue is everything. We will lose if hate and violence eclipse the message of peace and love.

I would recommend reading the entire article below.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/antifa-guardians-against-fascism-or-lawless-thrill-seekers/ar-AArWQhv

Antifa: Guardians against fascism or lawless thrill-seekers?
The Washington Post
Michael E. Miller

BERKELEY, Calif. — On the morning of the protest, Sean Hines woke with a sense of purpose he’d seldom felt. He was a 20-year-old high school dropout with no car, no job and no money. A year and a half ago, he’d been arrested for a drunken brawl. Now Hines was about to be arrested again, but for something he believed in.
..snip
But the Aug. 27 protest in Berkeley did not go according to plan. Police quickly arrested Hines and 12 others. Then, in images broadcast across the country, more than 100 antifa activists leapt over barricades and stormed Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park, attacking a handful of President Trump supporters and right-wing activists.

A month earlier, few Americans had heard of antifa. Then came Charlottesville, where antifa activists were credited with protecting clergy members from attacks by white supremacists.

The violence in Berkeley led to a backlash, including from the left. The city’s mayor, a Democrat, called for antifa to be classified as a gang and for the University of California at Berkeley to cancel conservative speeches later this month to avoid more violence.

7. An the best way to build up Democracy is to stop the legal bribery of campaign donations,

Super PACs, and the revolving door. The root cause of most of our problems is TPTB and their ability to control our politicians. Take that away and we return Representative Democracy!

We will also have to bust up the media oligarchy and separate the advertising departments from the broadcast/news departments. We require truth in the news.

3. Based on the last election, looks like a lot.

Obviously they don't think of themselves as that, but they fit the criteria.

14. Most definitely.

So what is meant here by authoritarians? “Authoritarians obey. They rally to and follow strong leaders. And they respond aggressively to outsiders, especially when they feel threatened,” MacWilliams said.

Polling data suggests roughly 18 to 30 percent of Americans fall into this camp, and that more can be swayed to support political “strong men” when they feel under threat. There are authoritarians across the political spectrum...

4. I could not agree more

The R's have taken the violent group the Black bloc and melded them with all of the peaceful protesters. The strategy has worked quite well, just about every cable news network is claiming that Antifa is just as bad as the neo-Nazis and White Supremacists. When anyone asks me about Antifa I ask them, you mean the Black bloc or the peaceful protesters?

5. The only reason that all anti-facist protesters

are labeled as antifa is because of the media. The media outlets, including MSNBC, have been showing the violent clashes as though that is the behavior of a majority of the people marching against fascism. Anything for ratings.

8. If you object or are afraid of anti fascist then you must be:

A Fascist.

Your totalitarian former Communist now Fascist are worthy of a good anti label. Quite a few of my generation were slaughtered fighting Communist as well as their Fathers generation were killed fighting Fascist.

All I ask please do not include me in your Fascist, Communist, or religious fanatic identity and rhetoric. Fill in the blank I am "Anti", and get off my lawn.

16. De-capitalize it and use it as an adjective.

The label as a noun has already been tarnished.
