The Romney campaign is being forced to pick a VP before they really wanted because of the deepening Bain Capital "scandal".
Who can he pick that will not overshadow himself? It is no easy task. People were shocked when Bush Sr chose Dan Quayle. But he chose Quayle because he (Bush) was perceived as a "wimp" by much of the electorate. He wasn't a wimp but that was the perception at the time.
Mitt Romney will probably use the same criteria, in hopes of not being overshadowed. Who does he pick? Bobby Jindal? Tim Pawlenty? Rob Pertman? Kelly Ayotte? None of these are outspoken, or boiling over with charisma, so either of them would fit the bill.
The question is, when will he make his choice? Could it be as early as this Friday, so it could be guaranteed as the topic for the weekend news shows? It's a possibility.
