The lack of esprit de corps shown around the country is disheartening. There was a time in the labor movement when unions DID stand together and DID form picket lines that were inviolate. We have been beaten down and dismissed as an illegitimate ideology, vilified and spoken of like animals...but the fight for equality is essential for all.

Human rights ARE economic rights ARE racial rights ARE sexual orientation rights ARE age protection and on and on...it is all one large movement to make this world a little better for all by making it fair for everyone. White, black, gay, straight, queer, old, young, native, immigrant...it is the only battle that matters beyond our own lives and lifetimes.

I am with every player in every protest and will never back down from that support.

Reagan started the anti union movement. Workers who think they can do better alone are a joke.

But for the life of me I can't figure out what this tweet means.

What does "no longer can afford to stick to sports" mean?
