What's more disrespectful to the flag and our service personnel? Kneeling for the anthem or...

the rich not paying their fair share of the tax burden even though they have enough wealth for millennia and beyond? Trump's tax proposals threaten to rob this nation from its ability to pay for healthcare, and other benefits, that our service personnel have earned.

Why do we as a culture get so hung up on symbolic gestures yet completely ignore actual policies that affect people every day?

to learn about and be informed of policies. Our two second sound bite nation is becoming too dumb for that instead, a quick symbolic gesture makes the masses feel good about themselves and doesn't take any real effort or thought.

Equating the day to day mix of years of bored sacrifice of personal time standing watch interspersed with a few life-threatening moments of chaos being a member of the Military with athletic actors entertaining the masses playing Sports in a limited and protected venue.

It's not the same thing. War is not an entertaining competition for a trophy where one week your team loses, and they all get to come back next week to play someone else. It's more insulting to the soldiers and sailors and the country as a whole to equate them with entertainment that allows a few people get rich.
