Mitt Romney survived a relentless barrage of attack ads about Bain Capital during the Republican primary, but now theres one ad that appears to be breaking through more than any other.
The one-minute spot, made by the super PAC supporting President Obama, Priorities USA Action, already has more than 1 million hits on YouTube, more than 10 times any other super PAC ad. More significant, a person at a Republican group that has tested Democratic attacks on Romney told ABC News the ad is potentially the most devastating yet.
Posted June 23, its running on TVs in Ohio and other battleground states, and it blames Romney for firing workers while making millions.
The ad stars a former plant worker in Indiana who tells the story: One day he was told to build a small stage and, shortly after, Romneys Bain colleagues herded the workers in front of the stage to tell them they were fired. Romney, the worker says, made $100 million by shutting down the plant.

How ruthless can you be? What a cruel thing to do! Have workers build a stage for no other purpose but to use that stage to fire them all and shut down the plant.

(53,661 posts)With the kind of sadism he's exhibited in the past, he had to have been laughing all the way to the Caymans. How amusing to see the despair on the faces of the 'common people' for whom he, his wife and friends have such disdain.
The more hearts and lives broken, the bigger they are, top of the rat race. He certainly showed his true colors with that carefully scripted event. This video needs to be played over and over until people cop a clue about how we got into this mess.
As was quoted here, 'Romney is the problem.' May the American people wake up from their media induced psychosis and see what unbridled, predatory capitalism did to the USA. 'So how's that working for ya, uh?'

We have a veritable smorgasbord of words and phrases to apply to those rare (in number) individuals whose financial worth 'elevates' them above the vast Hoi Polloi. Romney likely sees himself as a wise and benevolent role model, who must tolerate (and ameliorate) the inferior masses.

(593 posts)Repetition is the key to everything. The saying is "if you say a lie often enough it becomes true" (or something to that effect.) The GOP are masters at it. This has the benefit of actually being true.

And Willard can't be bothered to even release his damned tax returns. What would we see anyway? A lot more pain for Amercia and private gain for Bain.
How long is the magic underwear going to keep working?
But the rest of that sorry crop of contenders better realize right quick that they were less appealing than the Ken doll with blood on his hands.
