I can tell you one thing, I won't be voting for Romney. He's a liar"
Yippee!
We're in Colorado, a swing state. And, he had been planning on voting for Mitt, because he thought Mitt could work across the isle since he probably wasn't conservative on social issues.
But after all this... Mitts a definite no go.
His vote won't go to Obama. It'll probably go libertarian. But, it's now a decisive non-Mitt vote from a Repub.
Yeah!

(10,252 posts)Obama in his heart is a very slightly left-of-center centrist. Not a wild-haired socialist pinko that the GOP keeps trying to depict him. Tell your hubby to keep an open mind and take a 2nd and 3rd look at Obama. He'll have several months to consider his vote. And of course, we still have the debates to go.
Patiod
(11,816 posts)And you're correct. Obama is a centrist.
I try to explain to my conservative friends that the Left in this country certainly doesn't think Obama is particularly liberal.
It's why a lot of the more progressive among us are frustrated with him.
(on edit: I should add we support him, we are donating, pounding the pavements and working the phones for him, and we have his back. But we wish he were able to be more progressive, and we wish he had been able to get through a better health care plan instead of ending up using the Republicans' original health care plan)

Or Dr. Jill Stein.
Even the Greens need a little help meeting their 5% goal.

I'm not a Green, but some of my friends are registered Greens. They didn't like Nader's ego runs, and they are trying to rebuild the party from the ground up again after Nader ruined the rep.

(7,968 posts)He'll try to ech-a-sketch away his hard core stands that he took to appease the ultra-right. You'll need to make sure that your husband is well inoculated against voting for Mitt. I would recommend exposing him to lots of Mitt. The more the better. The guy doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

(3,055 posts)My late husband had his epiphany in '92 after listening to Buchanan at the convention. "I don't want to be associated with these people anymore." It was music to my ears. He re-registered as a Democrat the next day, and helped me work to register voters for the Clinton campaign. A few more days of Rmoney's bullshit, and your hubby might just follow suit!
