Listening to MSNBC experts talking about the Las Vegas shooting.

They are basically saying we are impotent when it comes to being able to prevent mass shootings.

The ten thousand pound gorilla in the room is that the gun lobby has us by the nuts and will squeeze us as hard as they can if we talk about gun control.

They ran a headline they have run several times before; went something like: "How Can We Stop This, Asks Only Country Where This Happens All The Time."

We're impotent because the NRA owns Congress, and that includes a lot of Democrats.

Polls show 80-90% of all Americans want things like gun show background checks and ways to keep guns from mentally unstable people. Your statement shows how dysfunctional our political system is when gerrymandering can lock in districts where elected reps have to vote for policies they know are wrong and crazy.
