We really do not need more trade treaties at this time. We need Democrats that can stand up and say that "Made in America" is good. They don't say it with a nationalistic, flag-waving notion but with the meaning that we need to keep jobs in America. This is a message that is popular with Americans across the board. It is a political winner!
We need Democrats that can jump in the shit of those corporations that take jobs overseas and hide their ill-gotten gains in the Cayman Islands and Swiss bank accounts. Those are not patriotic Americans.
We need Democrats that can say with a straight face that we need to get corporate money out of our politics. We do not need to get in a race to see which Party can raise the most money, in order to win elections. That is a fraudulent election on its face.
Look around you. Look at what is happening. Can you not see the bind that we are in as a political Party? Can you not see why we are in this bind? Where we cannot talk about issues that win elections because we are just like them. We have hand-cuffed ourselves to losing issues. Why? And why do some people continue to defend these issues? Isn't it about time we face reality?

(36,418 posts)The Party mainline apparatus is almost entirely organized along lines of the money that various interests bring to the table. Multinational corporations have a real interest in maintaining control over certain issues, and will spend whatever is necessary to keep that power.

(36,418 posts)There may be a rhetorical nod here and there, such as the Obama campaign having discovered outsourcing, but no real evidence that policy is about to dramatically change.
Do you see any evidence of any alternative to the machine same-old, same-old?
