"W-T-F? This is insane. Do they even know what they're doing anymore?

Democrats Celebrate Romney's Planned “Cocaine” Attacks

Democrats are celebrating the Romney campaign's stated plans to reintroduce President Barack Obama's cocaine use as a campaign issue, calling it a sign of a flailing campaign.

"If Mitt Romney had a record he could defend, I don’t think he’d have to resort to the gutter tactics that his advisors are pursuing," said Bill Burton, the senior adviser to the pro-Obama SuperPAC Priorities USA Action. "This campaign has been about issues, the fact that Romney and his team have been so feckless in responding to completely fair questions about his record and positions demonstrate a weakness that I don’t think most people would have expected."

A top Romney adviser briefed BuzzFeed on Tuesday of the campaign's plans for a counterattack — including dredging up the president's drug use and his ties to convicted Chicago businessman Tony Rezko.

Spokespeople for the Obama campaign declined requests to comment on the record about the new Romney attacks, but Democrats at all levels are marveling — and celebrating — at the Romney campaign's move — believing that Romney will little success with a character attack on Obama.

"W-T-F," one top Democrat emailed BuzzFeed. "This is insane. Do they even know what they're doing anymore?"

If they fail to pass a bad law, just keep trying to pass it over and over again. If they fail to repeal a law they don't like 33 times, just keep trying it over and over again.

2012 really is the year the world ends -for Republicans.

They are becoming more disorganized and feckless with every passing week.

We can't allow them to rise from the dead even one more time. Obama already has the election but we need to retake the House as well, or we will be right back where we are now!

using the same racist, ugly, flat out false shit that failed in 2008, the more it helps the Obama campaign.

It didn't work when Obama was a relative unknown to the public in 2008 and the repub candidate was seen as a war hero and a nationally known Senator and it sure as hell won't work now with the candidate being disliked even by his own party members and increasingly suspect by the public.

The slow motion implosion of Rmoney's campaign is one of the funniest things I've seen in years. None of this shit got any traction the first time around. So help me, Mittwit's campaign has to have meth-crazed howler monkeys at the top of the "organization."
All they can do is make a lot of noise and fling shit. I don't think even pRick Perry could be this goddamned dumb.

The Rove-Romney camp is beside themselves that they're getting trounced the way they are. This is Karl Rove in a room with the Romney advisers having a little shitfit: "Do the cocaine thing! Bring back Rezko! Blago!" He's in a full panic, Hitler's bunker style, playing out his true character as a pathetic little troll.

Good lord, I've never seen such an incompetent campaign on any level.
Mitt has been running for president for years... YEARS !!! You'd think
they would have it slightly together by now. And how much money
has he wasted so far??? I can only conclude that Mitt must be a
complete moron. An empty suit. The chaos that surrounds Mitt
is a reflection of what an absolutely terrible President he would be.

The only redeeming benefit to Mitt's campaign is that it
is pure comedy gold and I've never had so many yucks
at republican buffoonery. Bwaaa.

Romney profited on firm later tied to fraud

Damon Corp. fined after sale by Bain

By Frank Phillips, Globe Staff, 10/10/2002

Republican gubernatorial candidate Mitt Romney and his venture capital firm made large profits from the 1993 sale of a Needham medical testing company whose robust revenues were generated in part from a criminal scheme to fraudulently bill the federal Medicare system for unnecessary blood tests.

Romney personally made $473,000 when Corning Inc. purchased Damon Corp., on whose board he served between 1990 and 1993. His firm, Bain Capital, tripled its initial investment, making a profit of $7.4 million over a four-year period for its investors, according to copies of Bain documents obtained by the Globe.

Damon Corp. pleaded guilty in 1996 to a federal conspiracy charge of defrauding the government of $25 million between 1988 and 1993. It paid a record $119 million fine and penalty for a scheme that then-US Attorney Donald Stern labeled ''a case, pure and simple, of corporate greed run amok.''

The federal investigation never implicated Romney - who left the board in August 1993 after the company was bought by Corning - or other board members, other than company president Joseph Isola, who pleaded no contest to fraud charges two years ago.

Romney said yesterday he was a proactive board member who helped to uncover the fraud. He said he and other board members became aware of the problem after another laboratory, in December 1992, was found to have committed fraud through use of a billing system similar to Damon's. Romney said the board used its New York law firm to investigate, and as a result, the board took ''corrective action'' months before Damon was sold to Corning.

However, court records - including statements from prosecutors and Damon's own admissions - tell a different story, and reveal that the fraudulent activity occurred right up until the time Bain and other owners sold the company to Corning. Prosecutors also give sole credit to Corning for cleaning up the fraud after it purchased the company from Bain and other owners.
