Donald Trump takes credit for inventing the word 'fake'
https://www.yahoo.com/news/donald-trump-takes-credit-inventing-164820297.html
Donald Trump has apparently taken credit for creating the word “fake”, during a television interview. The President of the United States suggested he had coined the term as he lashed out at the media for its coverage of his response to the Puerto Rican hurricane victims. During an interview aired on Christian channel Trinity Broadcasting, Mr Trump also defended his decision to hurl “beautiful, soft towels” to those affected by Hurricane Maria in the style of a basketball player taking shots. “I think one of the greatest of all terms I’ve come up with is ‘fake'," he said. “I guess other people have used it, perhaps, over the years, but I’ve never noticed it." Mr Trump was being interviewed by Governor Mike Huckabee, the father of his press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and vocal supporter of the Trump administration.

5. This is a simplification of a real problem.
He sounds real dumb I'll grant the article that much - but he did effectively take over the term fake news and now feeds his supporters with it. There was actual fake news being taken as reality and this asshole neutered the concept and now brands anything he deems negative to him as fake -- and as dumb as it sounds it works on people. I see what he means, but the stupidest part is that he is out here bragging about it. Another example of him saying the insidious part of his strategy plainly.

8. He didn't invent the word; he just redefined the concept.
As in, moved the goal posts all the way out to center field.

11. "Faux News?" for a couple decades now?
If you have the vocabulary of a dotard and a moron, probably unaware of the word faux.
Although every REAL New Yorker who doesn't live in a golden tower should be familiar. |

14. Maybe he came up with this "unique" word from looking at himself in the mirror each morning and
seeing his 'fake' hairline, his 'fake' suntan, his fake net worth, his fake intelligence, his fake university, his fake products he introduced during the GOP campaign, his fake doctor with his fake medical reports, his fake crowd size at the inauguration, his fake fund raising, and his fake Trump companies that he diverted those campaign contributions to, his fake contributions to his fake charities, his fake poll numbers, etc.
Did I leave anything out? Feel free to add anything I might have missed. |

16. Hey, John Milton (the neologist who leads with 630 words still in the Oxford
Dictionary), Donald trump is gaining on you.
Trump has such gems as: fake-news and jump-start. My prediction: "Faktoid" will be invented by Trump as the name for the underpinning fact of a story labelled fake-news by Trump. |
