Who is president of the Boy Scouts of America? Brother Perry, LDS, Mormons

Given the nature of the "new" Boy Scouts of America and their right wing direction, I decided to try to find out who runs BSA now, who is the National President of the Boy Scouts of America.

Here is some information. Looking at his background, I can see Wayne M. Perry's coldness and profit in the BSA approach to Gay issues. Also, you can read more about Brother Perry, LDS here, and he is now President of the Boy Scouts of America.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_M._Perry

See: http://www.ldschurchnews.com/articles/49064/Scout-honors.html

LDS businessman Wayne M. Perry received the Silver Buffalo at the national function. The award is the BSA's highest national commendation.

Brother Perry has experienced Scout leadership at all levels over the past 25 years — serving as a Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Exploring Adviser, district chairman, president of the Chief Seattle Council, president of Scouting's Western Region, and a member of the National Executive Board.

Such service has earned Brother Perry numerous honors, including the regional Silver Antelope Award and the Heroism Award, which he received for heroic action during one of his Scout troop's canoe trips, according to the BSA.

Brother Perry is the CEO of Edge Wireless and serves on the board of directors of Baseball of Seattle Inc., the managing general partner of the Seattle Mariners baseball team.

Brother Perry is the latest in a long list of Church members to receive the Silver Buffalo that includes President Monson, along with Church presidents Heber J. Grant, George Albert Smith, David O. McKay, Spencer W. Kimball, Ezra Taft Benson and Gordon B. Hinckley.

Meanwhile, three Church members received the regional Silver Antelope Award at the annual business meeting.

Arguments from authority always trump rational argument. This guy has two paths to his authority. First, he has his religion, the LDS church -- possibly the LSD church? Second, he has a Silver Buffalo!

The LDS church wouldn't want to buffalo all of us here, would they? After all, they are major contributors to the BSA.

Cowabunga, dude!
I was a scout back in the day.
It was the 50s.
My scoutmaster was a local attorney, a very cool guy.
At one summer camp we smoked cigars I showed him how to make.
Pine straw rolled in toilet paper.
I'm serious.

I enjoyed the scouts before politics got involved.

Don't let the Catholics and Protestants know that the Mormons organizing to take over the leadership of every organization and state and local government and put in a Mormon President. Once they do that they will ban those religions.

SpiralScouts

One question almost everyone asks when inquiring about the SpiralScouts program is, "What do you do?" We teach respect for the Earth, respect for each other, and respect for all living things. We teach gender equality by welcoming children of both genders and requiring that both genders be represented in leadership. We make crafts, sing songs, teach woodland lore, participate in service projects, explore cultures outside of our own, celebrate the Earth, teach good citizenship, go camping and hiking, explore mythologies, take on personal challenges, put on plays, participate in community events, earn badges, and grow and learn together.

The SpiralScout Oath:

A SpiralScout shall:
Respect all living things;
be kind and courteous;
be honorable;
be mindful of his/her words;
seek out knowledge in all forms;
recognize the beauty in all of creation;
offer assistance to others;
value honesty and truth;
honor personal commitments;
and respect the Divine in all things.
