IIRC, McCain's people were allowed to view them in a room with no copiers or cameras or whatever would be useful in taking evidence out.

I don't believe they were even allowed pens and notepads.

They were given a very limited time to view them also.

It is like a Grisham novel.

Team McCain got the copies, sometime early last year they got them to Gingrich as a favor. The the spurned Newster linked them to the Dems!

A look back at Willard's political history shows how much of a glass jaw he's had about his wealth and taxes. I've long felt that a lot of what Team Obama's gotten came "over the transom" from others opposition research and former workers/employees with a dime to drop. With Willard's stubborn position of never releasing his taxes (and I think he'll only do it as a last gasp move to save his campaign) means you don't need to see the taxes as much as just keep raising questions. His lack of disclosure and transparency are set and no matter what he says or does now it'll never be enough.

I saw a quote saying that if he released his tax returns it would give people "hundreds of thousands of pages" of stuff to look through.

Seriously. Who has tax returns, even for a decade, that amount to more than 200,000 pages? That's more than 20,000 pages on average per year. I was miffed one year when my return was something like 10 pages.
