He knew what he signed up for, and knew it was dangerous. But he heard the call of duty and answered that call, in spite of the dangers he knew he would face.
And Trump's way:
"He knew what he signed up for, so tough luck. Now watch this drive."

Traditionally commanders attempt to reassure family members that their son or daughter did not suffer any pain or anguish before they died. Often going to great lengths to do so
