old white dudes who believe that women should be seen and not heard...and look pretty while doing it.

There are a lot of (hopefully mostly older) men who think this way.

is extremely old. The median age of a primetime Fox News viewer is 68, according to Nielsen. That means half of the channel's viewers are older than 68.

an indoctrination, or brain-washing. "Taught" doesn't quite capture the propaganda tactics they use to make sure their progeny are just like them.

I know this, because I come from a long line of Republicans. I was the family "disgrace" because I registered first, as an Independent, and ultimately a Democrat. This was way back during the Vietnam "conflict", when the earth's crust was still warm.

Whenever I questioned them about their reasons for being Republicans, some couldn't give me a single reason. It was just because all the others did, of course. Some would say it was fiscal policy, you know, the "tax and spend" Democrats. When I'd bring up "not tax and still spend" Republicans, they'd change the subject. Through the years it's been; civil rights (everything being handed to minorities, the Vietnam war, tax and spend, "trickle down" (one of my personal favorites), soft on terror/oil embargo, Iraq, Iraq, Iraq, Clinton's blow-job, much more Iraq, and now............some of them loathe Trump, but Hillary? No way!

Yeah, it's definitely brain-washing. My brain was already a lot cleaner than any of theirs, so it didn't take with me.

We know that now. Conservatively wired brains even process information in different order than liberal. it's sent for emotional processing first, then on for cognitive analysis, or perhaps in the typical Fox viewer's case not necessarily. That would have been more of an advantage in days when reacting fastest could mean surviving to procreate, perhaps, but it's a tremendous weakness in citizens of a democracy.
