Trump is quite well known for taking credit for things he had nothing to do with. Back in 1996, during a charity event for children with AIDS, he walked out on stage, uninvited, and sat down. Nobody knew quite what to do, so they let him sit there. The impression was that Trump had something to do with the success of the event, which wasn't true at all.

It appears that Kelly is conflating his boss with Rep. Wilson. I believe he owes her an apology.
