Dishonorable drug sales US Tops the World
Only Two Countries in the World Have Legalized This and the U.S. Is One of Them
Story at-a-glance The United States is one of only two countries that allows direct-to-consumer (DTC) advertising, a marketing bonanza that’s turned America into a medicated mass of people who’ve been brain-washed into thinking that taking pills will make everything better―even for ailments you might not have DTC advertising is a brilliant and very profitable move for Big Pharma, which has effectively transformed consumers into their very own sales reps Data shows that every $1,000 spent on drug ads produces 24 new patients, and that prescription rates for drugs promoted with DTC ads were nearly seven times greater than those without such promos DTC advertising is not only unethical, it’s a dangerous practice that puts countless numbers of people on medications they often do not really need, all for the sake of increasing drug company profits. By Dr. Mercola. https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/07/16/drug-companies-ads-dangers.aspx We had been discussing how SuperBowl and other events seem to have less beer and more drug ads. Whose making money from this advertising? We say bring back beer... Cheaper and solves a lot ....

2. This is growth
from outlawing the Pharma vacations they used to give to the Congress. The "fishing" expeditions down to Cancun and the Caribbean. We freaked out and they changed the laws. Now they are spending that money on commercials showing people a pill can cure everything. Another favorite is drug reps buying lunch for every doctors office they visit.
Unfortunately doctors have bought into this give a pill rather than take 10 minutes to talk to the patients and figure out what is going on. |

4. I don't disagree with what you posted, but Mercola is a quack that shouldn't ever be cited.
This would be the first time I agreed with anything he has uttered, but I will never again even give him one click. He is a fraud.

5. "Dishonorable" drug sales? WTF?
Maybe you mean, "unethical," "fraudulent," or perhaps "immoral?"
"Data shows that every $1,000 spent on drug ads produces 24 new patients." What data shows this? |
