It looks like Portman is a no VP go ...

I haven't seen any this here so I decided to post it.

Asked on WTVN radio in Columbus whether it’s still true that he wants to help Ohio by continuing to serve in the Senate, as he has said repeatedly, Portman said, "It is maybe even truer. No, look, I am happy where I am, I'm fortunate to get to represent our state, and I was elected in 2010 because of my interest in trying to help move our country forward and our state forward here in the U.S. Senate, so that's where I intend to stay."

And the pick may be Pawlenty:

The online Washington Secrets column of the Washington Examiner took Portman's comments to mean that Portman was “appearing to bow out of contention,” and noted his positive comments toward former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, another possible Romney pick. "I like Pawlenty a lot, I know him pretty well, in fact I've been with him in Ohio," Portman told WTVN.

as stated here:

'Sources who would not talk on the record told The Plain Dealer that too much is being read into Portman’s comments and that nothing has changed.'

Thought he was The One--relatively unknown vanilla white male. Sounds like he was recently told "thanks but no thanks."

Because she would be a good fit for Romney, and help him make the post Tampa turn toward the center, and you gotta believe that's where Romney will go.

Also, because its a high odds, no risk guess. If it's not her, so what? No one thinks it will be. If it IS her, I look like a damned psychic adviser.

as he's been all over the media lately. I think I stumbled on him three times in one day while channel surfing the news outlets. IMO he hasn't done a very good job defending lack of tax record transparency. He lied through his teeth about how many years are customary (TWO!) and several times I heard him say that it's just as silly as asking for the transcripts. In other words, they'll stop asking for the president's college transcripts if the Dems stop asking for rMoney's tax records. As if they're equivalent.

Mittens may just have to settle for Tedophile Nugent because of the name recognition.
No one else seems to want anything to do with Mitt the Pariah.

He can't deliver Minnesota. That's for sure. He has zero personality. He's not a conservative, so he can't offset Romney with the teabaggers. They already hate Pawlenty. Choosing him would make no sense for Romney.

Of the three candidates that have been mentioned, I can't see any of them as the VP candidate. I think all three would be a losing choice. Now, that's a good thing, really, but I think it's a smokescreen, and that Romney will announce someone as a surprise. Because that worked so damned well for McCain in 2008, you know.
