Treason against the U.S. Is big $h!t and a strong poker card....

Mueller can use against Paulie the Russian agent to flip him? Treason charges if found guilty can bring the death penalty. Plus all the other charges, Paulie won't see Russia for a long time?

Keep in mind that the talking heads on TV are often uninformed about what they talk about.

In the U.S. Constitution, Article III, Section 3 states:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

Interestingly, treason is the only crime defined in the Constitution:

I haven't read that the charges against Manafort and Gates include treason. Although you could have a conspiracy to commit treason, the conspiracy charges in these cases are very specific and different.

I just listened to MSNBC for an hour and it sounds like Tax Evasion (millions of dollars of income wired through offshore accounts) and failing to register as a federal agent to pro-Russian groups in Ukraine. Also lying to the FBI.
