Is this the pizza phase of Jerry Jones’ plan?

There are rumblings that the Cowboys owner is behind the CEO of Papa John’s calling out NFL leadership Wednesday, when John Schnatter blamed declining Papa John’s stock on the NFL’s national anthem protests.

Pro Football Talk, in a juicy (saucy?) story, reported the whispers in league circles about whether Jones had put Schnatter up to the Roger Goodell hit job during the company’s third-quarter earnings conference call.

Papa John’s has been the official pizza sponsor of the NFL since 2010 and has strong ties to the Cowboys, having been the official pizza sponsor of the team since 2004. Jones owns more than 100 Papa John’s franchises in Texas, according to D Magazine, and has appeared in a truly awful rap commercial for the chain.

In this age of "blame somebody else", it is all too believable.

The pizza sucks, and John Schnatter is a greedy asshole, so blame some concerned citizens!

I am surprised that PJ's doesn't sell a White pizza called the "Nationalist", or maybe the "Fascistzza"!

3. It's a matter of taste, but I prefer PPJ's Pizza to other chains that deliver to me...

But there ya go. I hate Dominoes. And the local favorite Pizza King is, well, a local taste.

5. Understood, no insults intended...

Dominoes is really bad, personally, for major chains, I prefer Pizza Hut, but have not ordered one in many many years.

Used to love the "Priazzo", which was fairly short lived.

I am very picky about pizza, spouse is 2nd Gen Italian as well.

Generally we make our own, but for delivery, we have a fabulous local place called "Master Pizza", and we live about a mile from Little Italy here in Cleveland.

Master Pizza has won numerous awards.
