Rachel Tonight: Bowe Bergdahl got no prison time in part because of Trump

The judge in the case warned Trump not to talk about the case
but Trump went ahead and talked about the case and in giving the
sentence the judge wrote and or spoke about Trump's comments
about the case as a reason that Bergdahl got no prison time.

BTW typing from memory so I hope I got this right.

It already happened with the immigration ban, and nobody can shut him up on the Russia investigation (thankfully).

... it was something like the judge told Trump not to talk about the case but
still Trump talked about the case and then when the sentence was handed down
the judge said that Trump's actions were a mitigating factor.

Rachel also mentioned that Trump's call for the NYC truck terror attacker to
be executed might make such an outcome highly doubtful.

The military justice system takes unlawful command influence very seriously. The Commander-in-Chief openly attempted to unlawfully influence the court-martial. The military judge had no choice but to consider the unlawful influence in mitigation. I very much suspect there would have been at least some confinement but for the unlawful command influence.

I am still pondering Rachel's assertion that the Commander-in-Chief's continued attempts at unlawful command influence after the sentence was announced will necessarily result in yet further mitigation before the Army Court of Criminal Appeals. It's an interesting theory.

Imagine having to be tRump. You’d be ignorant and miserable every hour of the day. I don’t know how his heart and brain have held out this long, with all the toxic bullshit swirling around inside that man.
