We don't solve problems anymore, we just talk about them.

Whether it's mass shootings, terrorism, the national debt, nothing ever seems to get done.

Let me clarify - when it comes to science and technology, we seem to be doing fine in the problem-solving department. It's in the social/political realm where we as a society seem to be dropping the ball.

WHY?

most of the people doing most of the talking have no real power to change anything except themselves and perhaps a small circle of friends.

For another, those who do have power seem to have a vested interest in not changing things. Insanely short-sighted, I think, but they're interested only in their own agenda, and to hell with anything else.

Complex issues.

But I hear your frustration, for what that's worth.
