New York Mayor Bloomberg Calls for Tougher Gun Policy

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg called on President Barack Obama and GOP challenger Mitt Romney to outline a concrete national policy to combat gun violence on Friday, hours after 12 people were slain at a movie theater in suburban Colorado.

“Soothing words are nice, but maybe it’s time that the two people who want to be President of the United States stand up and tell us what they are going to do about it, because this is obviously a problem across the country,” said Bloomberg, who launched a coalition of mayors in 2006 to stem the flow of illegal guns nationwide. “There are so many murders with guns every day — it’s just got to stop.”

During a midnight showing of the new Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises,” in Aurora, Colo., a Denver suburb, a gunman opened fire, killing at least 12 people and injuring 50 others. A suspect in the shooting has been apprehended, the authorities said.

As investigators continued to probe the massacre, Bloomberg took to the airwaves in Manhattan to demand the presidential contenders tell the public how they will stop the violence. The mayor said he doesn’t believe Obama or Romney has developed a clear, comprehensive policy on this issue.

It would insure huge margins of victory in the House and Senate and would insure Mitt Romney is sitting in the White House come January 20, 2013.

Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb.

of this issue, the responsibility falls more squarely on Romney than Obama.
