And that tells me that either the shooter isn't speaking (which I doubt), or that they want to avoid widespread panic because the motive WAS POLITICAL.

(192 posts)it sounds like this is related to the recent health care ruling. We need to show that this is the type of person that does not support universal coverage. That story has legs.

Just wow. Just when I think I've read the most stupid thing on the internet today, there's always something stupider.

(36,281 posts)A bit early for this sort of thing, don't you think? They have a suspect in custody. He is undoubtedly the guilty person. The cops have zero reason to disclose anything at this point and every reason to not disclose. The DA is building a case. A jury will be convened from among the community at some point in the future. Every piece of information they release potentially prejudices the case. This is standard LE practice.

(5,455 posts)after watching the media handle the Zimmerman/Martin shooting, they decided to be responsible and not release information that will make the case harder to prosecute and contribute to the media feeding frenzy.

(1,369 posts)how important it is to react responsibly in tragic situations such as this one. Kudos to
Aurora for not answering some of those questions.

(34,179 posts)Crime scenes to investigate, people to interview, and all of the million of other things big or small that are part of a big breaking case like this and you're pissed because that haven't sated your need to glom onto this case so now your paranoia is kicking in.
Turn off the TV, intertubes and radio, go out, take a deep breath, enjoy the weather, pet a puppy. You're becoming far too involved in this.

(46,436 posts)Perhaps they're keeping quet because they want to protect the case. Too much pretrial publicity can taint a jury.
