What happened last night didn't seem to stop movie goers here.
I do feel for those that were killed or injured.
I always check out the Exit doors when I go to the movies.
I like to sit upstairs and close to the Exit door in case of fire.
Never thought of ducking gun fire
Peace to the families of the dead and injured.

(102,200 posts)and the spread of bed bugs has been a recent concern. But, I never really thought about a mass shooting. sigh...
I've only been to that cinema once when it first opened, as it wasn't that close to me-- and it wasn't in one of the biggest theaters. Still, it stopped me in my tracks to think of how possible it could have been me or any of my friends.

(18,705 posts)I always wait a couple weeks before going to see a big movie.
I don't like big crowds.
Not that a smaller gathering would be any safer if someone really wanted to start shooting.

(29,199 posts)in my college town... someone set off a cherry bomb in the toilet upstairs... causing the pipe to break and the back 20 or so rows of the theater to flood (well, more of some constant dripping on the audience).
The theater manager turned off the film, announced what had happened upstairs, and offered us two choices...
1) evacuate and get refunds
2) stand in the aisle and along the wall and finished the movie... and get free tickets to another showing at a later date.
We, of course, chose option 2.
But even since then I check to see what's above me and where the exits are...

(4,243 posts)I always check to see where the exits are. I might be paranoid, but I've learned over the years not to trust people very much. Especially large crowds of people. At the first sign of a disturbance, I'm outta there!

(18,705 posts)I am sure the police were there because of what happened earlier in the day.
I wonder how long before we get x-rayed before going into the movies now.
