You're kidding me, right? Department: Jared Fogle now sovereign citizen

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/true-crime/wp/2017/11/14/jared-fogle-just-tried-to-get-out-of-his-sex-crime-sentence-with-a-legal-hail-mary/?utm_term=.f3d14940fcd2

Jared Fogle, formerly beloved Subway spokesman who has become a convicted child molester and child-porn aficionado, recently appealed his sentence. His grounds: because he is now a sovereign citizen, the federal court that sent him up the river for 15 years didn't have jurisdiction over him.

Happily, it didn't work.

US District Court Judge Tanya Walton Pratt wrote while throwing out his appeal, "if Fogle is now claiming to be 'sovereign,' the Seventh Circuit has rejected theories of individual sovereignty, immunity from prosecution, and their ilk."

"Natural law" being some Libertarian fantasy that is actually quite rigorous and nothing natural about it.

The most preposterous claim they make is that they should be able to drive without having a drivers license or a license plate or pay insurance.

Even political Libertarians follow laws and stuff, they just want "smaller government."

Secret Accounts is.

FDR took us off the gold standard in 1933. The law that did it is House Joint Resolution 192.

Here’s where it gets weird. HJR 192 does only two things: disestablishes gold as the backing for US money, and amends any law requiring a debt to be paid in a particular form of currency (IIRC there were laws that required certain debts be paid in silver or gold) to be payable in lawful money of the United States, as defined by Congress. Sovereign citizens believe HJR 192 ended the public’s ability to pay debts and also believe the law established secret bank accounts for everyone. (The secret account theory comes from one Roger Elvick, white supremacist and confederate of OG SC William Potter Gale. He invented it in the 1980s to try to get African Americans locked up for bank fraud. When blacks weren’t getting locked up over it his warped mind decided the accounts were real and started using them. Problem is, they weren’t getting locked up because the people he was targeting aren’t that stupid...but when he started using the accounts and convincing his hate-filled friends to do the same, people started getting locked up. Elvick has been to prison at least five times for doing this.

This scam has taken many forms. First there were sight drafts. The Montana Freemen did this. Next was A4V, “accepted for value.” If you write Accepted for Value on a bill and send it back, it gets paid from your secret account. Then came promissory notes salable on the open market, and now the big fad is electronic funds transfer from the Fed. Some people ordered paper checks with the Fed as routing number and their SSN as account number.

As you pretty much guessed, this doesn’t work. The people trying it says it doesn’t work because the system is corrupt. Everyone else says it doesn’t work because the whole theory is bullshit.

You’ll love this one: scam artist Heather Ann Tucci-Jarraf convinced veteran Randall Keith Beane to try this. Together they used this fraudulent scheme to “buy” two Certificates of Deposit. (Hold onto your seat. You aren’t going to believe the numbers, but I can confirm them.) The first CD was for $500,000. The second was for $1 million. After the bank’s computer accepted the fraudulent transactions, the scammers moved the money into another account and used about half a million to buy a motor home. They did all this over a weekend. When the bank ran the batch on all the transactions over that weekend, the two Beane did kicked out because the Fed doesn’t have accounts for individuals. By the time they got the chance to reel back the transactions, the money was gone. As a result, Heather and Randy were both arrested. Beane is in jail in Tennessee and HATJ is attached to an ankle bracelet and under orders to get a job fast. (Google One People’s Public Trust to learn more about HATJ. You will not be amused.

This YouTube video discusses Jared's disaster of a legal brief...

In it we learn the Mann Act doesn't apply to him.

"A person who travels in interstate commerce..."

(Jared: Defendant spent over 200 days a year traveling at the behest of SUBWAY, his then employer.)

"...for the purpose of engaging in any illicit sexual conduct with another person."

(Jared: The government did not bear its burden of proof that Defendant traveled "for the purpose of engaging in any illicit sexual conduct with another person." Defendant traveled to New York City at the behest of SUBWAY, his employer, for the purpose of representing SUBWAY at the New York City Marathon. This had been a task given to him by his employer, SUBWAY, for multiple years and is proven by the submitted evidence of receipts for travel expenses that Defendant was required to submit to his employer for reemburasal." (Spelled that way in the brief.) None of those receipts show any reembursement for sex. This demonstrates that his purpose for travel was his employment, not illicit sexual conduct.&quot

I must know: Exactly how do you submit a request for reimbursement for hiring a prostitute?
