The lifting of the trophy ban has hit me the hardest of anything yet.

I know it was a distraction to cover the tax scam, or just another "easy win" in 45's endless war against anything positive Obama did (or Hillary did)...or some combination of both. And I know there are so many other revolting, illegal and despicable things the administration is doing. But the lifting of this ban has knocked the wind right out of me, and I'm trying to understand why.

I guess I've always been a bit of a misanthrope. I don't wish any human being ill (except an obvious handful), but I just don't think humans as a species are all that great. We do so many shitty things, and are actually stupid enough to destroy the only planet we have. All the other species we share this planet with are going down with the ship and we're the idiots who punched holes in the hull.

After going on safari in a few different countries a couple years ago, I decided that if I ever ended up single I would spend the rest of my life working in Africa to save animals, elephants especially. Now I wonder if there will be any animals to protect in the near future.

All so his waste-of skin sons can pretend they're men. What a fucking sick joke. I hope they get trampled and take a few painful days to die.

Thanks for letting me rant.

I am totally disgusted with Trump lifting the ban on wild life trophies and the ivory trade. I'm a big animal lover. And as a Buddhist, I believe that all sentient beings at one time, in another life time, were my mother. We Buddhists revere life in all its forms. I own a 50 acre alpaca and llama ranch, with lots of wild life around. I don't even kill snakes, but capture them and move them safely to the woods far from the house and hen house.

Why why why would Trump lift this ban? I simply don't get it. But it reveals a much deeper disregard for life in general, including people. Everything in Trump world is viewed as either useful or not, able to be turned into a cash profit or not. There is not grace or respect for anyone or anything.

I mean the obvious is so his kids and buddies can get their jollies. What pieces of shit they are.

And of course, anything Obama did, 45 has to reverse. If Obama cured cancer, 45 would destroy the cure. If Obama had a book with the answers to all of life's questions, 45 would steal it and burn it. I've never seen childish jealously take such evil form. Yet he'll never be one hundred millionth the man Barack Obama is. He'll never be loved like Barack Obama is. He'll never be as smart, as accomplished, as talented, as handsome, as magnetic. Not even close. No matter what piece of Barack Obama's legacy he burns to the ground, he'll never, ever be better. He'll always be a worthless, greasy sack of skin with no redeeming qualities. But he's sure going to keep trying until he's burned the whole world.

Envy and jealousy are poison.

May all sentient beings have the joy of appreciating the success, happiness, and well-being of others.

Nah, not kill them, unless you are a lion or an elephant or other trophy animal. Trophy animals ought to be privileged with no-limit trophy hunter hunting.

As humans we'd be allowed to hit trophy hunters with tranquilizer darts and tag their ears or something, and post their photos on the internet, as trophies.

Rather like the catch-and-release-unbarbed-hooks requirements for fishing in some places. You get to catch the fish, take the photo and brag about it, but then you release them. You can't eat them, you can't stuff them and hang them on your wall..

Nobody wants to eat trophy hunters anyways. They taste like Viagra. And their heads mounted on the wall would be damned ugly.

I think there is quite a bit of outrage. It's been covered on the news, on twitter, and elsewhere. I just wish "we the people" had a say in this sort of thing!! Fingers crossed that somehow this will not happen. 🐘

it's so barbaric.

I would add that half should have that happen to them and while they are dying they would be forced to look at the other half's heads mounted on a trophy wall in the Kremlin while Putin and the oligarchs toast them with fine champagne and caviar. I have a wicked imagination.

Those photos of the trump kids (or anyone really) with the dead animals are sickening. I live in a place where deer hunting is pretty popular, but the people use that for FOOD and the deer are not on the endangered species act.

It is just so tacky and very telling about what kind of people these people are. They are very unaware that there are 7 billion people on the planet and they think having the most money somehow makes them different or special.

They have absolutely no regard for the planet itself either. When they set themselves in tall buildings with that ugly gold stuff on everything they are showing how far removed from the beauty and wonder of nature that they are.
