O'Malley has come to my attention several times in the last few months. I'm in Texas, so any Dem looks good from here. But I like his weekly blog. O'Malley has also started a new PAC to help Dems around the country in their 2018 elections. That impresses me a lot that he is out there pulling for the Dem team. It's also smart to show some leadership and garner some support for a presidential bid in 2020. O'Malley is someone I think we should all keep our eyes on.

(30,730 posts)He seems like a man of true integrity. I hope he never stops participating in Democratic politics.
He was not my candidate of choice in the last election. I encouraged his supporters because I wanted to see him stay with us for the long haul. He may be a viable Presidential candidate at some point. Even if he does not run for President, there should always be a place for him in some elected office.

(130,832 posts)but it reflects the problems of the last election, I guess; others captured all the attention.
We were HERE and did what we could to inform about his experience, plans, and activities.

(19,473 posts)It was frustrating that he didn't gain traction -- not helped by the media belittling him and sneering at him.

(904 posts)In large part because if you looked at each candidate objectively, O'Malley was the one candidate who could honestly say he had implemented progressive policies.
Not just talked about them but actually implemented them.
Also had some super detailed policy papers during the campaign.

(130,832 posts)Sure could have used such positive comments during the campaign(s,) as many here chose to ignore that, as you said, he had implemented progressive policies.

AND a Marylander! HI, 'neighbor.'
