This Thanksgiving will most certainly be better than last year's

A year ago we had no place to go and were still in shock. We basically sat most of the day and stared blankly at TV.
Both of us are retired and and Mrs. Lib is disabled. We were scared of where the country was going and what would happen to us.

America has taken some hits this year against the bullies. They have swung, but not really connected the way they wanted to. And we are punching back with grass root work and resistance from many corners not expected.

So here are a few things I am thankful for this year:

1) Robert Mueller - You all know why
2) Candidates, candidates, candidates. It takes a lot of guts to run, folks.
3) Virginia, New Jersey and so many other election victories a couple weeks ago and the voters who stood up to the repukes
4) Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, Ali Velshi, Stephanie Ruhl, Lawrence, Ari Melber Chris Hayes and I am sure I missed someone at MSNBC

5) Stephanie Miller, John Fugelsang and and Thom Hartmann, Amy Goodman and FreeSpeech TV
6) Reporters at the Washington Post in particular (and David Farenthold in particular)
7) David Cay Johnston
8) The women who have stood up and called out the predators

9) Women of color - a big thank you
10) And of course all POC who have done all they could to tell us what is going on.
11) the left wing blogosphere for helping me focus on what is important while the corporate media tries to take us down bunny trails.
12) a big thanks to DU and my compadres here - without this place I would be wound tighter than a 10 day clock

13) the people who organized Indivisible and the Women's March when we needed them most.

A special thanks for the pussy hat that I was able to wear so proudly that day.

I am sure there is more, I hope there is much more to come. Anyway this year has to be better than last!

When we do the 'what are you thankful for?' bit I'll have a few things to say.

to hosting Thanksgiving, which meant my trumpoholoc brother would be coming and gloating. So I invited myself to the in-laws. Had a great weekend with my solid D in-laws. We talked and leaned on each other. DU came back up and all seemed better.

A year later and there is hope that trump will be neutralized in 18.

The power of people speaking up blocked repealing the ACA.
Judges who are blocking some of the things Trump has tried to do through executive order.
That Trump has thus far been too stupid to enact much of what he wants.
