The Trump administration has just announced that they are eliminating the Temporary Protection Status on Haitians a month after he did it to he Nicaraguans.
Let's be clear, Trump's yelled to the crowd that he would get rid of the bad hombres but these people are law abiding people who are currently here legally. It is going to affect their spouses and children.
It will destroy families.
It isn't just cruel, its stupid. These people aren't going to go back to Haiti which is still recovering from the earthquake they are going to stay here but they will have to go 'off the grid' and simply become another unnecessary burden instead of contributing to society.
I know many of these TPS folks. They are the salt of the earth. I was walking with one on a Saturday in a business area where there were no cars and when I got to the other side of the street I turned back and I had to wait until the "don't walk" sign turned to "walk", he wouldn't cross the street until the sign changed, that is how law abiding he was. When we were at the Mall we looked around and he was gone. There was a small child that had become separated from her Mom and he was patiently waiting with the child until the Mother was found.
We need to keep things in perspective. These individual actions by powerful men are important and need to be reported but we can't let them divert attention from the systematic destruction that the Trump regime is carrying out on the weak, the vulnerable and those that aren't white.

The Trump administration is ending a humanitarian program that has allowed some 59,000 Haitians to live and work in the United States since an earthquake ravaged their country in 2010, Homeland Security officials said on Monday.
Haitians with what is known as Temporary Protected Status will be expected to leave the United States by July 2019 or face deportation.
The decision set off immediate dismay among Haitian communities in South Florida, New York and beyond, and was a signal to other foreigners with temporary protections that they, too, could soon be asked to leave.
About 320,000 people now benefit from the Temporary Protected Status program, which was signed into law by President George Bush in 1990, and the decision on Monday followed another one last month that ended protections for 2,500 Nicaraguans.
