I don't own a gun (an old school peace and love type), but if I wanted to, I could get one tonight, right in my area.
If I wanted to buy weed, I could get that tonight too.
The war on drugs didn't work. Too many people like herb.
At my local swap meet I can buy a gun easily. No law will stop guns.

(29,191 posts)Most drugs that are created by criminals (drug cartels) are organic plant products or can be made from readily available chemicals.
Guns require a great deal of high precision manufacturing.
It's actually hard to get semi-automatic assault rifles in places where they have
a) a law banning ownership of guns beyond shotguns or small handguns
and
b) non-porous borders.

b) non=porous borders don't stop people from coming in.

(16,064 posts)is a total ban on the manufacturing, sale and ownership of hand guns and ammunition. We should also have very restrictive regulation on all other types of firearms.
comparing guns to drugs is silly.
