I have a theory that the Brits really won the war for Independence. You see (until recently at least) it seemed that the USA got the right wing religious nut job end of the deal. We sent all the fanatics to the colony and then bingo, independence, jobs a good un' and cheerio old chaps! However it seems I was wrong. Prince Harry getting hitched to a yank is all part of a nefarious plot to take America back! Bwwwaaaahhhhaaaaaaa

4. you dont have to give up your citizenship.

I am american but also hold french citizenship. Certain countries dont allow you to do that but there is no issues holding a dual british american citizenship. My brother in law is one such case.
