because who is going to stop him? The Republicans are only focused on their own goals and don't care what he does until they no longer need him. The Democrats have no power and can't be relied upon after the backstabbing job they did on Al Franken. Due process does seem to be an important issue for the Dems.

At least when it comes to military and under the constitution.

Congress also has to write & approve legislation to tax and then authorize spending, so if they find some backbone they could restrict agencies that engage in espionage.
