Would you accept Australias merit-based immigration approach if we also got its gun control?

1. Australia was gutsy when they told gunners to go screw themselves in 1996. But, I would want to see

how those who came here for a better life and have worked hard, followed the law, etc., would be treated under any immigration plan. I don't have any real problem trying to limit future entrance, but I'm adamantly against deporting good people just to make a bunch of racists/bigots happy.

If they are going to be deported, I'd probably just say let ignorant white wing racist gun owners keep their dang guns in their home where they can fondle them as much as they want.
